Toowoomba Regional Council’s on and off-street parking fees will increase from July 1, 2023.

TRC Environmental Health portfolio leader Cr Tim McMahon said parking policy was a balancing act between providing parking for businesses, residents and workers in the CBD and Council’s cost-recovery model.

“Toowoomba’s CBD continues to develop, which in turn places more pressure on the city’s limited car parking stocks,” Cr McMahon said.

“Council’s ongoing investment is improving the regular turnover of CBD parking spaces to support surrounding businesses, customers and visitors.

“We realise many people have limited options other than to drive and park within the city boundaries.

“This is the first parking fee increase in two years and this is the minimum we could raise rates and still keep pace with our costs for maintenance, upgrading equipment and improving payment options.”

The parking fee changes across the city are as follows:

On Street Parking

1P, 2P, 3P and 4P metered parking spaces: $2 per hour (Up from $1.90 per hour).

8P On-Street parking increases to maximum $6.40 per day, up from $6 and $1.90 per hour.

Toowoomba Bus Station Car Park

$2.60 per hour to a maximum of $9.50 per day (up from $2.40 per hour and $9 per day 6am-6pm Monday to Saturday). Evening rates: $5 per evening (up from $4.80 per evening 6pm to 6am Monday to Saturday).

Neil/Annand Streets Car Park

$2 per hour to a maximum of $9.50 on weekdays (9am to 5pm) and $5 on Saturdays (9-11.30am) (up from $1.90 per hour and $9 per weekday or $4.80 on Saturday).

Julia Street Car Park

$2 per hour to a maximum of $7.80 per weekday and $5 on Saturdays (up from $1.90 per hour and $7.50 per weekday or $4.80 on Saturday ).

Station Street Car Park

$2 per hour to a maximum of $7.80 per weekday and $5 on Saturdays (up from $1.90 per hour and $7.50 per weekday, $4.80 on Saturday).

Central Car Park

$1 per hour to a maximum of $3 for three hours. (Unchanged)

Chalk Drive Car Park, Clifford Street Car Park, Herries/Water Streets Car Park

8P maximum of $6.40 per weekday or $5 for Saturdays (9 to 11.30am).
$2 per hour (up from $1.90 per hour and maximum $6 per weekday or $4.80 on a Saturday).
