Residents are encouraged to unlock their creative talents at arts workshops in Toowoomba and Pittsworth on Saturday (April 22, 2023).
The workshops, which are sponsored by Toowoomba Regional Council and Regional Arts Services Network, are being held in conjunction with tomorrow’s (April 21) sold-out Creative Industries Summit at Toowoomba’s Empire Theatre Church.
The workshops will offer participants the chance to try their hand at a variety of creative activities, including painting, sewing and Artificial Intelligence discussions.
The focus is on opening doors to new creative mediums. The workshops will be led by experienced instructors who are passionate about sharing their expertise and encouraging creativity.
"We want to provide an opportunity for residents to explore their creative side and discover new passions," said Michelle Blair, Regional Arts Services Network (RASN) Regional Manager for Southern Queensland.
"The workshops will be offered at a reduced price to make them accessible to as many people as possible."
The workshops will run from 9am to 4pm at venues in Toowoomba and Pittsworth on Saturday (April 22). They are open to anyone interested in exploring their creativity.
Tickets are priced at $15. Search for the workshops at www.tr.qld.gov.au/events
"We believe that creativity is for everyone, and we want to make it as easy as possible for locals to get involved," Michelle said. "We hope that these workshops will inspire participants to continue exploring their creative side long after the event is over."
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Toowoomba Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
