Our apprenticeship and traineeship programs are a great way to kick-start your career and secure a pathway into our large and diverse workforce. We provide a structured apprenticeship or traineeship process, supported by block theory components through local TAFE colleges or registered training organisations. By combining paid work and training, you will learn some of the practical skills that we require of our team and gain nationally recognised qualifications along the way.

Positions can be located at any one of our service centres so please consider your ability to get to and from work.

How to apply

Entry conditions

The minimum age for entry into apprenticeships or traineeships is generally limited to candidates who are 16 years of age or have completed Year 10 schooling, and are an Australian resident or hold an appropriate visa. You can apply for an apprenticeship and traineeship if you are a school leaver, re-entering the workforce or an adult worker simply wishing to change careers or gain new skills. Each year we employ a number of new apprentices and trainees who demonstrate:

The application process

  1. Positions are posted on our current vacancies article when they become available and around August/September each year.
  2. If you are interested in a position complete an online application, through the current vacancies article.
  3. We contact you via phone, email or letter to advise if you have been selected to proceed to the next stage
  4. The recruitment process begins.

The recruitment process

New apprentices and trainees usually start in early January. The stages in the process are:

  1. You will be invited to attend a one-on-one interview.
  2. In the interview you will be asked for examples that demonstrate your knowledge, skills and experiences.
  3. If successful at your interview, further assessment is required such as a pre-employment medical.
  4. References you have provided in your application will be checked.
  5. If successful, you will be made a verbal offer explaining in detail the package being offered.
  6. If you verbally accept the offer, you'll receive a formal letter of offer. This must be signed and returned to us to confirm your employment.
